We planted some "butterfly bush" cuttings from my mom's garden in ours, hoping to attract some of the big beautiful yellow swallowtails that swarm her bushes... well, we haven't seen them much yet, but one day a monarch got me to run out with my camera... it flew away before I got any shots, but then I spotted this gorgeous little butterfly... as beautiful as any of its larger cousins...

#5220 A yellow swallowtail butterfly. This is one of a series of these photos taken 8/2006 on 'butterfly bushes' one day at mom's. These bushes were swarming with them (12 or more at a time), so taking pics was easy since they were far more interested in eating than in worrying about me getting in close to take photos.
